You know what makes arguments great? Backing them up with facts. The Celtics absolutely fucking owned the entire NBA last season, and, specifically the Lakers last year in the Finals.

I never said Perkins, Powe and Rondo were gonna "carry the team" as you point out, I said they formed a good young nucleus of young players to compliment their trio of Hall of Famers, all 3 who are still performing at a peak level this year and most likely next.

Rondo is only getting better offensively and is a top notch defender of the point already. Perkins is becoming a monster defensively (7 more blocks tonight) which is all they need. They need maybe 7-8 points from him a game offensively.

And you are so quick to make fun of Leon Powe, do you not remember his 21 points in 15 minutes of play in Game 2 vs. the Lakers last year? Oh yeah I forgot you dissappeared off the board...

rondo is average at best. and anyone can go off on any night, including nobodies like leon powe.

and ray allen and paul pierce are not hall of fame caliber players. they were losers their entire careers, one championship doesn't put them in the hall of fame. kg? maybe.

paul pierce was a first round exit almost every year, that is, if he even made the playoffs.

you can talk stats all you want, but he didn't do shit. you can talk points per game, but it's easy to drop 25 a year when your team blows and you and chuck up all the shots every night.

lebron was horrible leading up to the last few games of that series, so i guess you can say pierce somewhat outplayed him, even though everyone in the world knows lebron is 20 times the player pierce could ever be, if you stuck kg and ray allen alongside lebron, they wouldn't have lost a game in the playoffs.

the celtics only won because they had homecourt, and pierce got help from kevin garnett.
