i have a feeling toronto is gonna try to get turk somehow, which would piss me off as a raptors fan. and i read that trevor ariza is looking for 10 million/year, which i hope is bullshit because he's not worth that at all

fucking retarded excuse for trade bait maybe if it was nash going to boston rather than barbosa...but why would you give up a solid, young PG and possible hall of famer SG for a lazy PF and mediocre SG? whoever started that rumor doesn't know shit |
|||

around the fur![]() |
i think the celts would probably keep what they have and get whatever they can out of the old big 3
once those guys are past their prime, they'll probably try and build around rondo and some of their other young guys at least that's what i would do. the celtics probably have 2 maybe 3 more shots at a ring with the big 3. if kg is healthy, of course. cause they're pretty average without him. |

What do you mean? He's opting out of this contract...why/how would they buy him out? Or do you mean Orlando will-resign him? Buy-out means, when a team absorbs a player's contracts and continues to pay it, even though they let the player go. I think Orlando lets Hedo go, and looks for a true PF to put next to Howard. Hedo is a tweener. That way they can keep Lewis at the SF exclusively, where he belongs. |

Boston doesn't need to fiddle with their starting 5.
They need to fill their bench with vets and another true back-up PG to cover Rondo. House isnt cutting it. Their bench was shit this season. |

IF Boston thinks it has to make a trade, I think that's a great trade for Boston, but shit for Phoenix. A front-line of Amare, KG, and PP is a formidable one. Get a ball-handling PG, improve their bench and the have a good team. Besides, how much does Ray Ray make? Would that trade even make sense financially? I don't see how Amare is labeled "lazy"...He's a big-mouth for sure, but have you seen his numbers before he got injured? Dude was beasting. Amare, KG, PP...I think that's a better big 3 than Ray, Kg, PP. Power/scoring/rebounding down low is more important than outside shooting. You get higher percentage shot. Amare and Barbs >> Rondo and Ray. In my opinion, anyway. You always try to get the all-star big-man when you can. If you have a chance to trade small for big, you do it.. Just my opinion though. |

my bad, re-sign him |

but if that takes perkins out of the lineup, it definitely brings the defense down a notch or two or three. and who is going to handle the ball for them? you could see just how worn down pierce was at the end of the year being the only guy on the team who could create his own shot. take away rondo (who legitimately became a second tier PG this year) and you're in an awkward place. maybe they make a move to get alston or something? i don't know. getting stoudemire for ray allen certainly doesn't sound like a bad deal for the celtics, but i don't think it makes them that much better. there is no question in my mind they become worse defensively if perkins goes to the bench, and on offense their 3pt shooting shouldn't take too much of a hit with barbosa coming on, but they still lose their best ball handler/penetrator, which to me is the deal breaker. i don't think boston is even thinking about moving rondo though.

bill walker is a scrub and perkins isn't worth a lotto pick. so that is a ridiculous offer and even memphis isn't dumb enough to say yes
they should draft rubio and then just trade him if he doesn't want to be there. rubio will be one of the top point gaurds in the nba once he gets used to the nba and most teams know that |

i wouldn't be excited about thabeet either.

i really don't know what to think about this entire cavs/china/yao thing going on.
they own 15% of the team, which isn't controlling interest, but that's a pretty big piece of a team. i don't know anything about them, but something tells me they are going to try and get the cavs to get yao. he's like kobe and lebron combined in china, if i were them, i would probably want that. but the dude is always hurt, he's a good player, but i don't know if he's exactly what we need. |
|||
|
|

yao is a global star and i assume he makes the rockets a ton of money, so i can't see them letting him go in any sort of deal. but i guess you never know when china is involved

not saying they couldn't win with him if he stayed healthy, but as a basketball fan that's one of the last guys i want to see playing with lebron.

If he could stay healthy I think he'd be a great fit for the Cavs. It would make the offense easier for the offensively inept Mike Brown. Just throw it down low to Yao and let him go to work. It would also free up their shooters like West and Williams. They seem to play a slow tempo game anyway. He'd be a better option the 65 year old Shaq. Watch once Shaq leaves phoenix and that medical staff(which he loves and attributes for him staying so healthy)he starts breaking down again. Yao is younger too, so if he is going to be around for awhile that makes staying in Cleveland more attractive for Lebrown James. This is all IF he could stay healthy ofcourse.

well, cleveland does have really really good hospitcal systems, that is one thing they can hang their hat on. the cleveland clinic is one of the top hospitals in the nation.
i have read about a few guys in town who have made the trip to cleveland to see a specialist. marty havlat of the blackhawks, who had to have his entire shoulder put back together, actually lasted all year, shockingly. so shaq does have that. i would rather this team go after a power forward that is an all star. and just find a big body that can play center. kinda like kendrick perkins, boston didn't get beat like the cavs got in the magic series, because kendrick perkins was able to keep dwight howard away from the rim, not all the time, but pretty damn good, it allowed the banged up celtics to take the thing to 7. i know bosh is the guy they are targeting, apparently it's the guy lebron has said behind closed doors, that is who he wants to play with, and i think that is one possibility of keeping him in town |
|||
|
|
2007 Fantasy Basketball Champion |
i really think bosh is gonna be dealt to miami in some sort of deal involving beasley. or he could just go there in 2010 as the heat have the cap space to sign him
|
|||
|
stfuist![]() ![]() |
no way Yao ends up with the cavs. cleveland doesn't have anybody to trade for him. no one whatsoever, unless they trade 'bron (LOL).
Yao's an all-star traditional (mostly) center with great fundamentals. those players are hard to come by nowadays..cleveland doesn't even have any other all-stars on the team besides lebron and he's obviously not going to be traded. mo williams? all-star? maybe? trading him for yao? no way that happens. |

if they stay healthy, they should be pretty damn good. maybe the last hurrah of timmy in his prime.
good for milwaukee too, they'll have cap space for 2010 with all the available free agents |

it's hard to tell if rondo is who he is because of pp/kg/ray or if he can be a top pg with out those guys. same with perkins for that matter. i guess i can't blame danny ainge for not wanting to pay rondo what he has seemed to be worth, which is a max contract or near that

i think it's a good move, because it doesn't hurt their future. they actually gained more cap space for 2010.
if they move up in the draft tomorrow and grab one of these big guard/wing players, i'm gonna be thrilled. i can already see our rotation with z and shaq working pretty well, both guys will be on limited minutes, maybe 20 a game, one goes on the other comes off, can't have those 2 on the floor together just cause everyone in the league would run on us. but i think it can work. they still have to worry about resigning andy. they have their mid level exception too. there has been so much talk of them moving up, i wonder with this going down if they do it again. if shaq is movitated, and in shape, it's a good move. we really don't have a low post presence. if cavs/lakers in the finals doesn't happen next year, i'm convinced the league isn't rigged because that would destroy the ratings for any series, ever. |

And as far as Rondo goes, they were saying on ESPN the other day that he is apparently having locker room troubles. The guy always seemed super quiet, but maybe he has discipline problems or something.

nelson VC pietrus/hedo? lewis dwight nice starting 5 |

turkoglu won't be retained. i think they made this move because they couldn't come to a deal.
nelson, vc, pietrus, lewis, and howard. it's a good starting 5, but pietrus was such a huge asset off the bench, they don't have that anymore, pietrus won't have the effect he will coming off the bench it's a good move for them because they had to do something considering turkoglu is probably gone. the nba is killing it right now with all this craziness, this is nfl-esque |

maybe hedo sign-and-trade for shawn marion?
nelson VC matrix lewis dwight now THAT is a sweet starting 5. best in the east and would give the lakers much more of a challenge |
