wait, were you really arguing that paul pierce is better than lebron james?

and i'm not sure where you got those stats, but lebron's career FG% is much higher than that. it's closer to 47%. i don't think he's even shot under 45 since his rookie year.

you're an idiot.

actually, "ain't" is a word. nonstandard, but a word nonetheless.

the true irony of my screen name comes in the form of a double negative. thus, erasing any sense of insult one might feel resulting from my posts.

however, the average idiot i am addressing on this board would never notice this, bringing us back to square one.

i'm sorry, HOT_CARL, but you are not a genius.

Career FG% - Lebron (.467) Paul (.441)
Career 3-pt % - Lebron (.322) Paul (.363)
Career FT% - Lebron (.729) Paul (.795)

Lebron averages 21.1 shots per game over his career; Paul averages 17.1.

Wow, if Pierce hoisted up a few more shots more game maybe his career scoring average would be up near Lebron's. Even Kobe's only at 19 shots per game over his career and everyone says he just shoots all the time.

so you have to be a good outside shooter to be a good nba player? please.

overrated? are you fucking kidding dude? boston had WAY more talent then cleveland last year, and lebron nearly took them past boston. they were a shitty ass pj brown shot from moving on.

yet, he's overrated? you mean the guy who took his team to the finals with almost nothing around him (something pierce couldn't do) the guy who won the scoring title last year (while still averaging 7 and 7)

he's the best talent in the game, pierce isn't even in the same class as him. that's fucking laughable that you're even comparing the two.

i would expect that from a boston fan who probably just started watching basketball again last year.

when's he ever done that? what the hell are you talking about? i keep hearing about how 'soft' he is, but have never seen anything that backs it up. he's a finesse player, yes, but he's not 'soft'. i've seen him take tons of contact and shots to the face without complaining, not to mention him constantly playing through injuries. dirk's more soft than he is.

look at him curl up in fear as he almost shits all over amare.

haha the lakers average margin of victory is nearly 20 points of game... jesus

this is gonna be a celtic/lakers finals again unless lebron and/or chris paul decide to play completely out of their fucking minds in the playoffs, and even then it might not be enough

and what the fuck happened to the mavericks? i understand why the spurs are shitty right now missing two of their best players, but the mavs, not so much.

dallas has lost to some pretty tough teams, except their loss against the clippers and the clippers really aren't all that bad this year. mavericks have been the lakers' closest/toughest game of the season so far. they look better than they did last year. kidd's playing like kidd and carslisle is an underrated coach. they just need a closer.

and lakers' margin was actually 22.4 points a game, until tonight's game..
tomorrow's going to be a big game for them.

Yeah sure I'm a bandwagon fan. That's the line anyone not from Boston uses against Boston sports fans because our teams are dominating this decade. Especially someone from loser Cleveland I guess. I'm sure you were a huge Cavs fan long before Lebron ever arrived...yeah right.

Back to basketball. I'm not saying Pierce is better than Lebron. I'm just saying much of Lebron's legend has been built by the ESPN/NBA hype machine so desperate to find the next Jordan. He's unbelievably athletic but he's not as far ahead of his peers as Jordan was in his prime.

And in the most important game these 2 have squared off (Game 7 of the semi's last year) Pierce had 41 to Lebron's 45. Heck even Lebron thinks Pierce is a superstar: "Paul Pierce is one of my favorite players. As a fan, when I watch Paul Pierce, I love the way he plays the game of basketball," James said. "I love going against the best, and Paul Pierce is one of those guys. We both are trying to will our team to victory, and just like Dominique Wilkins, I ended up on the short end. The Celtics won again."

a)he curled up and died in the finals after garnett yelled in his face

b)he didn't dunk "over" stoudamire in that video...any moron can see that stoudamire ran at him from behind to block the shot, then tripped over his own guy and fell on the way down

c)you're right that i don't watch the lakers, because i don't give a fuck about them

more comments that make me think you didn't watch a ton of basketball between the bird years and last year.

lebron's comments are tongue in cheek.

anyone who has watched the nba in the last few years knows lebron and paul pierce hate each other.

they put their differences aside, and duked it out on the court last may, but if you know the history, you wouldn't have brought up lebron's comments after the series.

there have been numerous instances with those two, pierce spitting at the cavs bench in a preseason game. pierce with some comments about how lebron wasn't that good in his rookie year.

loser from cleveland? i'd rather be a loser from cleveland, then a bandwagon celtics fan.

and yes, i watched the cavs even before lebron was there, and even after the price/daugherty years.

i watched each and every game of the 2002-2003 season hoping they'd lose.

i sat through the kemp years, i watched us deal away good player for crap player ample times.

but hey, assuming is cool.

a)that never happened. in fact he played as good defense as you can play against KG and held him to a respectable %. he also shit down his throat in that video i posted up there.
b)any moron can see that i used the word 'almost'. tool. i noticed you didn't say anything about him yoking on kg....yea looks like he's really scared of him in that video. lolz.
c)for someone who doesn't care about them, you spend alot of time talking about them. i forgot, you thought the jazz were going to the finals last year. which just goes to show what a complete jackass you are.
d)stfu and sit, noob.

and since we're talking about curling up in fear, i remember KG getting chin checked by anthony peeler (a guard) and then backing up like a bitch. then sitting there for the rest of the game with ice on his jaw.
lollllz

Exactly, well then don't assume I'm a bandwagon Boston fan either. You don't me, I don't know you so it's pretty pointless to accuse each other of not being a diehard fan of the teams we root for.

This is a stupid argument anyway. I never suggested Pierce is better or even equal to the great Lebron. You orginally said Pierce "didn't do dick" before Garnett and Allen got there last year and that is just plain ignorant. He is a damn good player who I've been watching since he was drafted and that included the 2001-2002 season whe he took them within 1 game of the NBA Finals. They made the playoffs with Pierce 4 times before last season and he's averaged over 25 points 4 different seasons. I know you keep saying all do is talk about stats but I'm just backing up my statements with facts.

I used to have a World B. Free Fleer basketball card from 1985-86 I think.

Hey look at that, Pierce hits the game-winning shot with 0.5 seconds left to beat undefeated Atlanta. Finishes with 34 points. He sucks!!!

lebron's numbers in '08-'09

29.6 ppg (leads the league)
6.9 apg(7th in the league)
8.4 rpg (25th)

incredibly overrated.

I still don't see the part where anyone said he sucked.

Lakers still undefeated after back to back with dallas/NO. if it wasn't for chris paul going off in the 4th it would have been another 20+ blowout. then again, nobody can stop chris paul.
