his suns teams before Shaq were really entertaining. i think they had a chance at a title, they just didn't get it. mainly the 07 team

but yea, his whole philosophy on coaching just isn't right, you gotta play at least solid D

i think josh smith deserves an all star nod over joe

he's ultimately more important to the hawks than joe is. it's the first season i can really say that.

this is really awesome that the hawks get to play the magic for the second time this month on a back to back after playing boston. thanks schedule makers.

if the hawks can match up with the c's in round 2, they just might make the eastern finals.

haha, no one is sulking on Orlando's bench

that team is unhappy from top to bottom. you are crazy if you think that gortat is ok with how his situation played out in the offseason. if you're not reading about what's going on, it should be getting more and more obvious to you what is happening by their play on the court.

Gortat seemed pretty happy last night

i'm starting to wonder if boston can still handle orlando in a 7 game series. here's how i see it now: cleveland can beat anyone but orlando. boston can take anyone but cleveland. atlanta has a 50/50 shot against boston and orlando, but no chance against cleveland. so, theoretically, if orlando gets the 2 seed and and cleveland the 1 seed, i can see atlanta having an outside shot at making the finals by taking down boston in the 2nd round, and orlando in the 3rd. it's unlikely, but possible. the east is very interesting right now.

i guess it doesn't matter since none of these teams can or will beat the lakers barring a key injury to someone other than kobe (since he'll just play through it anyways).

i don't think we'll have a problem with orlando now. shaq can handle howard down low, so the double team won't be needed. not to mention orlando completely fucked their team up. (howard's numbers when he plays against shaq are much lower than his usual avg)

plus, we got bigger and more athletic on the perimeter.

and i can't put the lakers on a pedestal like that either. we have shown we can play with them this year (2-0)

and this is all assuming we don't make a move, there is a good chance we will trade z for a key player and get z back, so we will end up getting another scorer for nothing.

i think lakers are still the fav in the nba, butthe cavs have significantly closed that gap.

im curious why you dont think boston could take cleveland? i think they have a good chance when they get it together.

it's not that i don't think boston would have a chance against cleveland, i would just give the cavs a significant edge in that series. i missed the game on opening night, so most of my assumption is based on their series from two years ago. that 7 game series came down to the final minute. in basic terms, boston has regressed since then, and cleveland has gotten better. as good as rondo, pierce, allen, and perkins are, what makes/made boston a championship team was garnett playing at a superstar level. KG was in obvious decline even before he got hurt last year. the rasheed wallace signing was supposed to help him out, but it's only made his age even more apparent. if garnett somehow miraculously gets healthy for the playoffs, i think boston is capable of beating just about anybody, but they'll never be at the level they were two years ago, which is what i think it would take.

I also just heard the local radio guys saying that the Rockets and Sixers have a deal in place sending McGrady, Brian Cook and Kyle Lowry to philly for Lou, Dalembert and Igudoula, but Daryl Morey won't pull the trigger unless hecan get a 3rd team involved because that deal would murder the Rockets in luxury tax.

who knows, Morey is a wizard....he could find a way to pull it off.

i like your thinking, but i think the hawks have a better chance of beating the c's in the playoffs (probably about 70/30), and i think they're in deep shit if they match up with the magic (i'd give 'em about a 20% chance of taking them). i also don't think they have any chance in hell against cleveland. they're not winning any playoff road games against lebron and company.

they just match up really well with the celtics for some reason. beating them 4 times this year is not a fluke. it would be great to see them make the eastern finals because they've never been past the semis since they've been in atl, as crazy as that is.

i think cleveland has a legit chance to take the lakers as well. they need to get home court, though.

I wonder if boston should be resting kg more so come playoffs time, he's in the best form he can be.

if the c's had the energy of atlanta, then there wouldn't be a problem.

I think next season they'll replace ray allen with 2 young, energetic, decent players on the team.

derrick rose is better than rondo.

it's just too bad he's stuck with a bunch of shitty mediocre players and a coach that has no idea what he's doing. they should send him to c-town so they don't ruin his career

i would like to watch more grizzlies games, but their announcers are two of the worst in the business.

that game tonight had some good moments though. rudy gay's 3/4 court launch with 8 seconds to go in the quarter was hilarious, as was thabeet's layup attempt that hit the bottom of the rim.

kobe and artest were the only lakers to show up to the game. pau has been getting outplayed a lot lately. marc keeps making that trade from a few years ago look better and better for memphis.

FUCKING YET

if you look at replays, Kobe pushed off ray allen for that clutch shot.

but because he's kobe bryant, he never gets called for anything.

the celtics are a physical team but officials are making a lot of calls on them because the celtics have been arguing a lot with the officials. they need to stfu and play. then they wont have so many bullshit calls called on them.

i love how espn and the national douche bags keep talking about lebron leaving, even though he's on the best team in the league, yet dwyane wade is on a team that might not even be considered mediocre, and not really a word about it.

and lolz @ hickson pwning wade last night

i'm surprised they didn't take him off the floor in a wheelchair, again.

it's just amazing that they are winning without 2 key players, and not only winning, but railing these teams

their starting 5 last night

lebron at the point, parker at the 2, jawad williams at the 3, jj at the 4, and shaq in the middle

it's funny, people ragged on the shaq deal, for what reason i have no idea (we gave up nothing for him, ben wallace and sasha pavlovic, for a big man with a 20m expiring deal, that is highway robbery and a no brainer if you're the cavs)

then they played the "oh lebron and shaq won't get along, he'll ruin that team with his ego"

guy has been a model teammate and citizen.

i'm not guaranteeing a trophy or anything, i just love the way they are playing and aren't making excuses for the injuries to a few guys.

plus we have leon powe getting healthier every day, he'll give us a nice boost from the bench.
